Because you'll only get stuck at the next one. Like this guy I recorded on my way home tonight:
Caught up to him at the next light, passed him (all while doing the limit), gave him a smile and a hearty clap, even though he flipped me off for honking (to warn the traffic he could have hit in the intersection).
